Don't Get Me Started...

People think I'm quiet. They've obviously never talked to me about dogs. And those that have, regret it pretty quickly!

Kids at Church

We ruin more hymns that way.
Remember kids are kids, and an hour long mass is a very long time for a kid to sit still. So be patient and remember that you were once like that. And maybe still are.

We can't have a boat either.

Although there are members of the family who have access to fancy boats. Also this guy we are chasing actually exists. He just shows up every once in a while speeds around like a tool and blasts Nickleback. I dislike him.
The song being played by us is from Fred Penner's "Story of Blunder" it's the Goblin Song.
G-O-B-L-I-N GGG-GOBLIN!

The Magpie

Once again this picture of my painting was take with an ipad, so the colors, tones and such are a bit off from the original painting. But you get the idea.
Magpies are one of my favorite birds. Even though they are mean and rather violent to other birds and animals, they are very pretty. They also are quite clever. In summer you can see them...well, everywhere, but especially down the quiet side streets by the river. There is something very serene about walking amongst the big trees and watching the magpies climb up them, searching for food. Or maybe that's just me.

"Tommorow will be better"

Did some more painting. I've done 2 more aside from this one, but one I painted for a present for my dad, and the other I'm undecided on whether I like it or not. When I was painting this picture the idea going through my head was that of the duality of emotions. There are miserable moments were you feel like the world has been pulled out from beneath you and you wonder if you will ever stop hurting, but you have to remember that some day you will be happy again. If I were to give the painting a title it would probably be "Someday I will"
I took a picture of this picture with the ipad since it is too big to scan, so it is a bit grainy. Sorry about that.

Painting till 5am

I found myself unable to sleep last night. My brain decided it was a good idea to start thinking about everything bad that has been happening recently, and I was unable to take my thoughts away from them. So around 2:55 after the second wave of tears, I thought, "Ok, Enough." and went downstairs to paint. I haven't painted with acrylic for a while, but nothing like emotional conflict to get the creative juices overflowing. With emotion. A glass case of emotion. Can you tell I haven't slept? Anyway, I luckily still had a blank canvas I could paint instead of just paper. And after painting until 5, I finally felt relaxed. My panicky, depressing thoughts slowly melted away with each brush stroke as I concentrated on what was unfolding in front of me. Relaxing songs that don't remind me of anything got stuck in my head, and I mentally listened to them on repeat. When I decided I was finished I went back to bed, I think I fell asleep around 5:30, because I remember dozing off and then waking up as family members got up to go to work.
If I were to give this picture a title it would be "Autumn's Last Song". Even looking at it now there are things I would change or add, but I will not do anything to it now. I'm rather pleased with how it turned out, considering I just followed the brush.

Markhor Man Take 2

I was never really satisfied with my first attempt at drawing this guy. The pose was awkward, and although I had an idea of how I wanted him to look, I think I kept looking back at the Sail Fish Hunter I drew before and how that picture turned out pretty much how I wanted it to, that I kept subconsciously trying to draw the Markhor Man like the Sail Fish Hunter.
Then I got angry at the picture and decided I was done. So here is my Take 2 of The Markhor Man.
I'm much happier with this one.
