Sudden Downpour

It started raining as we started walking into the building.

Bird Warning

True story. Storms like these happen sometimes. Nothing about rain in the forecast, and then suddenly a isolated area just gets dinged with a heavy, but short, rain storm. I thought about turning around and waiting in the mall, but I felt more comfortable getting in my car since I didn't live too far away. I spent most of that short drive home praying.

Summer Smells

It was a relativity cold summer, so I didn't go swimming too much but did sit on the beach in the sun, so I didn't wash my towel when it came back from the cabin. It still smells faintly of sunscreen and sunshine.

Peas Straight From the Pod

Today's comic features Olie, our first dog.
Erin had originally taught Olie how to eat ONLY the peas and spit out the pod, assuming Olie would only be interested in what we gave her and not the plants in the garden. That was short lived.

Still socially awkward, even online...

If you've met me you'll know that I tell whole stories when I talk and often go off on different tangents altogether before I remember to get to my original point. So something like Twitter that has limited characters you can use to get a point across is not something I am very adept at!
(I'm not very good at the "in-person" socialization thing either, really.)

Get Out The Way

I think people are watching Akela and they move to the opposite side of him. Although sometimes, even if I very decisively move to one side, the on-coming person STILL moves to the same side I'm on!

Dog Owners & Exercising: Straightening Your Spine

It actually helps me when he sits on my stomach when I'm doing this particular stretch! And if you're wondering, just laying on the floor in that position helps straighten out my spine.

Too Much Smoke

The gentle balance of letting the meat on the BBQ smoke, but also not catch fire....

Sudden Realizations: Singing

I've already mentioned how I grew up surrounded by music. It wasn't just in my house, we'd have family gatherings and someone would start singing. We'd go (every once and a while) to a party and either singing or football would happen (often both). Even my two childhood friends never batted an eyelash when my sisters would practice their music. So it was incredibly strange to me that my friend in this comic wanted to stop what we were doing so she could listen to my sisters sing. It was a moment of realization that not everyone heard music at any moment of the day, and just how different other peoples lives can be. I wouldn't be able to go without music.

Heard It Through The Grape Vine

It's like a slightly delayed Surround Sound effect.

April Fools from the Personification of the Seasons

I wrote this comic BEFORE April 1st, so we'll see how prophetic it is for where I live. Winter is notorious for not letting go fully until at least April in these parts.
