My Pillow Now

He also once fell asleep on one of my bunnyhugs (hoodie). When I left the room and came back, he had it wrapped around him like a blanket.

HA, you fell for the classic trap!

All my sisters and brothers jokingly say this at some point. And then when I do babysit I get constant texts inquiring how things are going. 'Cus, you know. Love.

Radishes

I personally don't like to eat radishes, but I like how they look and it's name. Don't know why, I just do. Christopher discovered that day, he did not much care for them. Unlike Patricia who could eat them raw as a snack.

Things nobody warns you about: Newborns

It's very unsettling the first time you see this. And the second. And the third. I forget pretty much every time.

A Breather

Now, I'm not saying that these particular people tire me out, and I'm not saying to handle me with kid gloves. But at the end of the day I just need some solitude to recharge my batteries.
The joys of being an introvert I guess.
The problem is, the longer it takes for me to get that solitude,  the more stressed I feel. If it's a few hours beyond my regular schedule, I can cope. If it's over days and days, it starts to feel like drowning, and I'll need more than just a few hours.

Mashed Potatoes=Fun

Never forget what it was like to be a kid. Because if you don't, you can stop them before they do what you would've done!

The Fine Print

Father Bob was very clever.
Until I did this comic, I had forgotten he always said "hello" in a sing-song manner, and that I vowed to myself to say it like that as a default. Which I have done for many years, though I don't think it captures the same joy he had.

Better to beg forgiveness...

I let him borrow it anyway.
(In case you are wondering I am referred to as Magoo, Goo, and, as of late, Bagoo by my nephews and nieces)

Shopping

We went shopping the last couple times I came over for a visit, so I guess it's part of the routine now.

Brayden and the Hiccups

My moms go to tactic to get rid of the hiccups was to scare them out. It hardly ever worked.

Before my siblings started having kids of their own, there was another group of important kids in our lives. My mom, for a while, babysat a small group of kids in the neighbourhood. Brayden was the first kid to start coming to our house on a daily basis. And he started the nickname "Mama-Kay" and "Papa-Kay" for my mom and dad, since he couldn't quite say Mrs. McKay when we first started watching him. The rest of the kids my mom babysat, called them that too.

I believe it fell out shortly after...

"I'll sound the alert!"

It was hard to sneak past Olie. Plus the closer you got to her, the harder she wagged her tail.

Be the best Princess you can be

My nieces know how to be the best princesses.
Happy New Year my friends and relations!
