WHY IT`S CHRISTMAS DAY!!!

Merry Christmas Everybody! May you have a very happy and blessed Season of Joy!
As for me, I`m taking a small seasonal break (in which I will make new comics, and try to stay more then 1 day ahead of schedule). Once Upon A Donna will return after the New Year.
So happy New Year too!

Relish the Relish

I can't remember which cousin said that, but the they did eat almost the entire jar at supper. With help of course. Although some family friends have taken to eating the relish with a spoon instead of putting it in a sandwich. And then there's the Infamous Pickled Bean Incident.
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve, and also my Mom's Birthday! So happy Birthday to my caring, and giving Mother!
And may you all have a very Merry Christmas!

Zero Grip, Strong Pup, and Mischievous Bro-in-law.

Shortly after this we switched Olie to a Halti instead of a Harness for walks. She was just too strong and my boots had zero grip.

The Snow Beckons...

Our front lawn was littered with Christopher sized indents in the snow that year.

Friday, 16 December 2016

Do You Wanna Go For Ice Cream....

It's not that people who live here, where the wind hurts your face when you walk outside, are stupid. It's that we're crazy.

Wednesday, 14 December 2016

Just Breathe

I don't do this as often as I used to.

Monday, 12 December 2016

Mini-Them

At the time Erin had a bowl cut, which made her look a WHOLE lot like Oliver. My other siblings were in this concert too. It's fun to compare them at that age to their own kids now!

Friday, 9 December 2016

I Didn't Do It!

It's true, she didn't. She was, however, sleeping on the couch when it fell over. The sound in the third panel is of Olie jumping off the couch, and trying to get grip on the hardwood with her nails.

I'll just quietly join in...

This really is the best part of the song.
The version we sing is from John Denver and the Muppets:Little Saint Nick

Anticipation

This was my favorite tradition as a kid. Typically we weren't allowed to open the Wish Book until either December or the first Sunday of Advent. But there was occasionally exceptions.

Tug-Of-War

Olie had a very strong jaw, and tug-of-war was her favorite game. At this point in her life she had started to think of Chris as a caregiver instead of a puppy. I suppose she figured it was time to upgrade her level of play with him.

I'M SO NERVOUSCITED!!!!!

Hello my Friends and Relations (you)!
As of today I am off on a 2 week holiday! But don't worry, I have all two weeks of comics ready and waiting to go up on time, as usual! As I may not always be around wifi, I may not be able to share on the usual media's on time, but the comics will go up on this site regularly, so when in doubt check here! And I will try to keep the schedule normal when I do have access to wifi.
Here's to a safe journey.
See you in a couple of weeks!

Comfort Fail

I didn't break my foot when I slipped on ice, but I did sprain the heck out of it and swelled up to a lovely size and required crutches for a few weeks. Poor Olie tried to cuddle, but just succeeded on jumping on my leg. She jumped off as soon as I started yelling, and settled for just sitting on the floor close to my hands for easy access to doggy ear scratches.

Am Dog, Will Comfort

A lot of people hurt themselves by slipping on icy sidewalks. It's pretty common, and happens at least once to almost everyone in this city. I was fortunate enough to take my big spill (a few years ago) close to home, and by kind people who pulled me off the road and out of the puddle the sneaky ice was hiding in. The guy in this comic often caught the bus with me at the same time in the day, and the owner of the dog lived on my block and knew (more or less) where I lived. Even more fortunate, the Principal of my brothers elementary school saw me, pulled over, and drove me back to my house so I didn't have to hobble all the way back! The funny thing is I can remember, through closed eyes, the sound of a dogs collar jingling, then the puppy kisses, opening my eyes, recognizing the breed as a Bichon Frise and wondering if the owner got him from my old neighbours who used to breed Bichons. Don't remember everyone's name though!

Peacock vs First Impressions

Peacocks at the Forestry Farm (zoo) all wander free in the summer time. They're pretty friendly, they won't let you pet them, usually, but they are very used to people and small children. However every kid is a little afraid of them the first time they see a peacock. Can't really blame them when the bird is about the same size they are.

A Voice Cries Out

Tristan has some serious pipes on him. This happens at least once during every Mass. It's not always started by the same kid, but it never fails. It's like the "Twilight Bark" of babies.

Watch Out Old Man

I don't have the patience to learn the rules for, pretty much, any board game. My brother-in-law Will and those kids though. Boy, just get out of their way!
It was Will's birthday yesterday. Happy Birthday Will, hope you had a strategically awesome day!

Anything's scary if you say it like that...

This children is called a "Video Rental Store" they used to be all over the place in the 90's. Then Internet killed the Video store.
Tomorrow is my sister Patricia's Birthday! Happy Birthday Patricia, may your day be scary movie/story free!

Skating

When I was a kid I was a decent skater. However my best friend Lisa and friend Chelsea were both in Ringette for the entirety of elementary school. So they could skate circles around everyone. I could skate backwards!

Too Scary Two: The Oliver Version

The boy's all about monsters. But true to their nature, monsters give him nightmares. Today is also his Birthday today! Happy Birthday Oliver!

Wednesday, 9 November 2016

Hide and Seek

I forgot that if you go far enough under the stairs you can get into that little area. I just never tried it as a kid because of the dust and how many spiders my imagination told me there were. Chris said he didn't see any, but now he has to help mom clean that area out.

Not Part of a Healthy Breakfast

The next jar of Pickled Beans my mom made them, she had me right a warning on the label, to not eat the entire contents of the jar for breakfast.

Friday, 4 November 2016

Eye Colour

Also according to Daniel, Dad's eyes are black and my eyes are Rainbow. Close enough.

Wednesday, 2 November 2016

All Shall Love Me and Despair!

I'm not even that! I also learned about Star Trek by watching it with my parents when I was a kid.

Monday, 31 October 2016

Happy Halloween!

This happened to Thomas a couple Halloween's ago (he was Batman). So cute!
Happy Halloween! Hope you all have a lot of fun and remember to stay safe out there and watch out for each other!

Friday, 28 October 2016

Quoth The Raven :"Ok, Fine!"

Probably because Edgar Allen Poe's character didn't have cats and dogs in the area.
Today is Erin's Birthday! Happy Birthday Erin, may your day be filled with not crows!

The Witching Hour

Even a woman who is pure of Heart,
and eats her meals by night,
May become crazy Hangry,
Around four o'clock,
So avoid her with all your might.

Don't Say Ghost

Now the question is: Who exactly is she trying to convince here?

Friday, 21 October 2016

Safest Place From Zombies

According to the Zombie Survival Guide, in Canada, my Province is one of the safest, or most likely to be able to survive a zombie attack. If you can get out of the city that is.

Wednesday, 19 October 2016

What it really comes down to...

I don't much care for pickled garlic though.

Monday, 17 October 2016

RUN, STUPID!

Hands up, who else's pet would respond in the same way?

Friday, 14 October 2016

History is way scarier

It legitimately annoys me that Horror movies have made this a trope, and very few people know the history of it.

Wednesday, 12 October 2016

All Saint's Day

Martyrdom: the death or suffering of a Martyr. Also Archangels seem pretty intimidating too.

Monday, 10 October 2016

Happy Thanksgiving!

This year I am thankful that my hand did not fall off at my wrist while I was drawing this!

Friday, 7 October 2016

Piranha Boy and Co.

Getting close to Thanksgiving here in Canada! When John was little he never had to worry about getting the turkey leg. Now he has some competition with a few nephews.
Note: John as Piranha Boy made his first appearance Here

Jump Scare

John's always been easily jump-scared. Which is a problem for me, because I can see the jump scare coming, but then he jumps, so I jump!
It's October (already) so I'm going to be trying to do spooooooky themed comics this month (except this Friday's). As with all my comics, some will have really happened, others... not so much. But I will leave it to you, the viewer, to decide which is which. ;)

'Tis Fall

Fall lasts for about a week here. The trees all turn lovely shades of gold and deep red/purple, we get a couple days of hot weather, and then overnight a wind will blow in and knock all the leaves off in one fell swoop.

Friday, 30 September 2016

The Peanut Butter Incident

We have a picture of this. I was very cute.
Mom said the peanut butter was everywhere and there was a large puddle of it on the floor too. Apparently the hardest thing to clean was my hair.

Forgotten 2: The Second Time

This was the second time I got left behind on the way to The Lake. Apparently when they turned around to pick me up, they could hear knocking on the door from the inside of the house. Mom said I was knocking on the door because I couldn't reach the lock.
I vaguely remember being alone in the house and thinking that if you knock on a door to get in, then surely you can knock on a door to get out.

Starstruck and Awkward

Turns out I'm like a goldfish. I have to be in close proximity to someone for a certain amount of time BEFORE I can survive a conversation. Or I'm just someone who gets starstruck. But I tend to react in a similar way when someone talks to me in person about these comics.
I was meeting James Marsters in the last panel, who is a very nice person and didn't seem too phased by the fact that I was fighting my subconscious from folding into myself.

Friday, 23 September 2016

I should be so lucky.

I don't sleep well to begin with, having back pains makes it worse.

Wednesday, 21 September 2016

Eye of the Beholder

Before anybody talks about the dangers of letting a kid walk up to a strange dog. You are preaching to the choir.
Plus the owner was there and so was Clint, and if my memory serves they had already asked if it was ok to pet the dog before hand. And besides all that, Henry is now a big boy and knows better.
In fact he is one year older today then he was yesterday! Happy Birthday Godson of mine! Hope your day is absolutely wonderful and full of hugs and kisses from those you love!

Remember to Share 2: The Reckoning

I think Olie saw me as just above her in the pack hierarchy. I'm sure I maintained that level by the fact that out of the two of us, I was the bigger grump. However I wouldn't let her go cold either.

Friday, 16 September 2016

A Hero

Believe it or not, you're already someones Hero.
This strip was supposed to posted on Wednesday, since it was also Finn's Birthday on Monday.
Oh well, at least I wasn't sick for Finn's birthday like I was for his brothers.... although I did have to leave the party early for work...
Whatever, Happy Belated Birthday to SuperFinn!!!!

Wednesday, 14 September 2016

A Magoo By Any Other Name...

This was after spending the entire day with him, Colleen and Chris at the Tyrrell Museum of Paleontology in Drumheller. Oh well. I still don't know peoples names if I've been working with them for months, so Kettle and the Pot I guess.
So I got my dates confused, this strip was supposed to be posted Monday when it was Isaac's (and Finn's) Birthday! So Happy Belated Birthday to my awesome nephew Isaac!

Monday, 12 September 2016

Remember to Share

Olie didn't always treat Erin like she was the dominant being.

Friday, 9 September 2016

A Full House

That is the last time the bear and wolverine invite the squirrel to play strip poker. The deer is a much easier opponent.
Unrelated, It's my birthday today! Send me cake! And in the event of no cake... I dunno, send me your thoughts or something. Have a good weekend!

Accidental Coffee

The better question would be how I got to Paris in 2 seconds.
It actually wasn't as hard to give up coffee as I thought it was going to be. But I contribute that to the fact that I hadn't been drinking it as long as most people, and I had health concerns to think about. Now I can go a long time without having coffee. Unfortunately my immunity to it has tanked, so I've got to watch it when I do have coffee if I want to get any sleep within the future.

Now Talk

This is her new favorite thing.
