I also enjoy looking at pretty shoes, and dresses. I say again, LOOKING, not so much wearing. I guess that part of me hasn't changed too much.

That is an accurate image on how I wake up suddenly.
The birds are usually Robins, Chickadees and I think Sparrows. I don't mind them because their singing means that there isn't a thunder storm in the works. Or isn't a storm just yet.

Can't see the nature for the nature

This was one of Oliver's earlier trips to the Forestry Farm (zoo)
On the first couple trips to the Forestry Farm, about half of the nephews/nieces (of toddling age) will stare at the animals, trying to figure out what it is they are looking at, and the rest will suddenly realize they are outside in an open space and promptly ignore the animals for the immediate snow bank or puddle.
Oliver loves animals now, and can tell you all sorts of facts about them.

Grumpy Little John

He wanted to stay home and watch cartoons. This was before you could record things all willy-nilly. Plus he had to wear a shirt at church. He didn't like to wear shirts. People used to say he would be the priest in the family. He isn't, but he doesn't hate going to church any more.

There must be some baby-catnip in Chris' hair, because I remember Oliver used to do this to him too.
