Sick Leave...

Whichever comes first.
So Merry Christmas if you don't hear from me before then!

Sick Day

Nope, no energy. All the desire to get things accomplished, but you don't get much done when you're doubled over from standing for 5 mins.

Monday, 15 December 2014

Blech!!

I cannot physically eat meatloaf. I don't know if it's the texture, or the taste or all of it combined, but I do not like it, and will not eat it! And no, I don't believe ANYONE when they say "Oh you'd like the recipe I have!"
No. No, I would not.

CAUTION: NIGHTMARE FUEL

Drawings can take on a life of their own. Sometimes it's a good idea to kill it with fire.

Tuesday, 9 December 2014

SQUIRREL!!!

I've been doing a lot of commission work lately, and when I spend the entire day drawing, like I have been, I tend to go a little loopy. Ye Be Warned....
Also, squirrels may look cute, but they are eeeeeevil.

They can run, so your option is hide...

By the time I got there, he had taken a handful of jelly beans Which equals about half the bag.

Right in the Childhood

I mean what kid hasn't fantasized about having a pet dinosaur? (Or pet dragon for me more often then not.)
I guess only time will tell if that really is what's happening in that scene.
By the way, does anyone remember Cadillacs and Dinosaurs? It was a TV show when I was a kid.

Such Grace!

Guess who's who!
(Hint: I often say that I am as graceful as one of these!)
ONE of my problems at class is dancing in one direction and then having to go the opposite way too quickly. Also there will be some dance moves that my brain goes "Yeah I see what we're supposed to do. No I'm not gonna tell the feet!"
I'd also like to point out that I got permission from my mom and sister to draw this. And although I don't think of them in this persona; I really, really, really wanted to draw this picture!

I am The Bat: Final

JORGE!! Thus concludes the story of the bat at zumba class.

Thursday, 27 November 2014

I am The Bat: Part 2

Batty, batty, batty, batty bat! 1, 2, 3 count!
Oh, if you couldn't tell, the bat followed the scent of fresh air out the door. He was having problems with his reflection in the windows, we think. He landed for a few seconds and then figured it out.

I am The Bat: Part 1

Erin's never been on good terms with rodents. I, however, kept talking to the bat like a complete idiot and kept calling it 'buddy', like it was a small child who could understand me. My first reaction to cute, fuzzy animals is "MAYBE IT'S FRIENDLY!!" which is quickly overpowered by my voice of reason, that tells me all that is wrong with my initial assumption.
My 'happy reaction' obviously doesn't apply to insects that flutter in my face.

Healthcare Tips

Well, he's not far off. He also told me that you need to drink warm apple juice to help get rid of them.

Tuesday, 18 November 2014

Life Lesson?

There is a life lesson in there I know it!
Personally, I was always too scared to go down those fire poles, there was always that huge gap between the playground and the pole I just couldn't trust. My nephew Jack doesn't seem to have that problem.

Things That Go Bump in the Night

You can tell this is a fictional story because I am willingly dancing instead of cussing at being woken up and scared for nothing. I have been known to prowl the house at night with a bit of 2 X 4 though!

Artificially Flavored

No child will mistake THOSE for candy!
They did do their job though.

Let Sleeping Donna's Lie

True story.
Also, I don't know why, but the site won't let me make this image any larger without making it blurry. I'll see what I can do, but it may have to stay this size for a bit. Lame.

Location, Location, Location!

For those of you who don't read comics or haven't been watching the new Flash series, Captain Cold is one of the big baddies that fights The Flash. It occurred to me that his skills with a freeze gun wouldn't necessarily work as effectively against people if he lived here, where the weather ices things naturally.

The Rabbit and the Rain

I don't remember the old Rabbit ever running. I just remember it sitting in the driveway, all four tires flat, hadn't worked in years, and using it as a fort. It was awesome. Except if there was a spider in it. Then it was terrifying!

Mind = Blown!

Ah youth, when their little minds are easily blown, and they learn imagination isn't something that has limits. And that their Aunt is a great big goof!

Hallowe'en Spooktacular Part 3

I originally had a better comic for today, but it was faaaar too scary. So I just threw something together about vampires. Enjoy!

Tuesday, 28 October 2014

Hallowe'en Spooktacular Part 2

Some horror movies say don't burn the item. But then, nothing really works properly in those movies because they are designed for the protagonist to fail, so what do they know?

Hallowe'en Spooktacular Part 1

....
.........
pffft! AAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA, HIS FACE! I don't care if I'm the only one who is amused by my own drawing, I'm so freaking tired!! Which is why this is being posted earlier than usual, because I need sleep!

I tried to think of some Halloween Past where something really awesome or funny happened, but they were all pretty similar or would be too difficult to translate into comic form. So this week I will be delving into the much more fictional side of things. Ye be warned!

Pronunciation

And before you say anything, allow me to point out that I posted this conversation on Facebook a while ago and many people already used the reply "eh, same thing" as a joke.

Tuesday, 21 October 2014

Full Supporting Chorus

I also do this at their (the nephews and nieces) sports games.
I'm not the only one who gets over emotional/exuberant at these things though!

Monday, 20 October 2014

Second Verse, Same as the First!

Second verse, same as the first! A little bit louder and a little bit worse!
This is the other expression mommies have when daddies play this game.

Revenge of the Dog Breeds

What good is useless knowledge if you can't use it to annoy?

Enforcing Personal Space

Really? Really?? Do you really need that much space, that you have to take up two seats? I dunno, maybe he was claustrophobic?
And sadly, no I do not do this to people (that I don't know), even though I would really like to. Either way I had a lot of fun drawing the second and third panel.
And although you wouldn't be able to tell from today's comic, it is Thanksgiving here in Canada, so Happy Thanksgiving to all! I hope you have a lot of food and find many things to be thankful for!

"Indoor Voice"?

He's got one of those high pitch baby screams that can shatter ear drums.

Tuesday, 7 October 2014

All Hail Our Donkey Overlords!

And yet if you give him any dinosaur name, he will tell you what it ate, what it looked like, and what was unique about it.

Problem: Cats

If I don't touch my face, and I take an allergy pill I'm ok.
This is my friends cat Shadow (as best as I can remember him). He wasn't the brightest of cats, but he liked to curl up on my lap when I visited. Probably because he knew I was allergic to him.

Playing with Barbies

We only had a few official Barbies, the rest were different types of dolls. Of course it wasn't limited to Dolls, stuffed animals joined the team as giant animals they could ride, and some of the boys' action figures joined to round out the cast. It wasn't until I was older that I realized that most girls just played dress up with their Barbies. That's very boring.

CATCH!!!

Both Dad and Colleen dived for him. He only tripped at the third or second step from the bottom, but they managed to catch him, and came out with more bruises and bumps then if Chris had just fallen. And we'd all do it again. And have. Because there are a lot of kids in this family, and stairs are tricky when your feet are growing. Heck, Chris caught Oliver when he started to fall down the stairs not too long ago!

It comes in two flavours

I will forever call it Church Juice, I've never tasted it's like elsewhere. Except maybe at another church. The pink flavour is where it's at!

Thursday, 25 September 2014

SSHHHH!!! DON'T REMIND US!!

Oh don't get me wrong! I like winter fine enough, and I love fall, but the weather got too cold too fast for a while there, and I started to panic. If it had stayed cool, I think there would've been a lot of depressed people this winter. Fortunately, the weather warmed up, and we relaxed a little. We know what's coming, but in the meantime we can enjoy all these pumpkin flavored things. Or just pumpkin pie....mmmm...pumpkin piiiiie.

Universal Truth

This is also true for Blizzards, Peanut Buster Parfaits (for those not allergic) and Banana Splits. But Slurpee's more then anything.

Unexpected Animatronics of Terror!

For whatever reason, the store was set up so you had to go through the scary section that was lined with their animatronic monsters, in order to get to the safer kid section. There may have been another way around, but at the time I didn't see it. In fact I wasn't looking at much of anything. Why do animatronics always look so mangy? Except for the zombies! They are in full gory detail!
Personally I like the more innocent side of Halloween. I like the spookiness over the jump scare and the Fall celebration over the gore fascination. And, of course, I loved trick-or-treating!

This incident happened a few years ago, Chris is older now and probably wouldn't be as frightened as he was then. Maybe. Seriously, Mangy!

Friday, 19 September 2014

Uh-Oh.... UH-OH!!

Actually it was on Lucy's third attempt to touch the bear that Daniel decided he was done. Poor little guy had just woken up from a nap.
Also by the time Erin came back upstairs I was laughing too hard. Just the timing of it all!

Wednesday, 17 September 2014

Because Knowledge is Power!

He also can tell you a lot about dinosaurs. Randomly.

Sunday, 14 September 2014

Every Sister for Herself!!

If you ever find yourself running away from a bear with Erin, stay out of arms reach!
That's John chasing them by the way. I believe this was when he discovered the ultimate summer weapon that is the garden hose.

Hot Soup!

People who like hot/spicy foods are a poor judge for people who can't handle them. Personally my mouth burns if I have even the mild stuff. The soup was probably medium. It was quite tasty though, and cleared up my sinuses pretty good!

Monday, 8 September 2014

CATERPILLAR POWER

I still giggle at how my mom said that.
Also I hate to say it, but the caterpillars were looking mighty fuzzy this year too. I guess time will tell.

ALS Ice Bucket Challenge with a Lemon Twist.

Personally, at the moment I just have enough money to cover bills.
But we will be donating to the ALS in memory of Father Mike Koch (pronounce Cook), who was a priest at our church and all around nice man, he passed away due to ALS. I nominate anyone who can give.
You should also go take a look at Kim's webcomic at: http://www.picpak.net/

Back to School Blues

Best of luck to all those people going back to school!
Even though I am completely done school (although I probably will still take art classes as my life goes on) I get this feeling of dread when people talk about kids going back. I think it ties in with the feeling that summer is slowly coming to a close. And this summer was WAY too short for my liking!

Monday, 1 September 2014

I'm not a morning person

I wake up with some pretty fabulous hair styles. I've woken up with The Wolverine hair style before. Like The Wolverine from the old 90's cartoon of The X-Men.

What's not in the comic is John's high pitch, infectious, giggling that followed. He likes to annoy me.

Skiing Part 3

Kids, if you are hurtling down the mountain at top speeds, don't use a tree to stop yourself.

Wednesday, 27 August 2014

Skiing Part 2

The first time I went skiing in grade... um.. 6(?)(school thing) Thomas told me that if I ever lost control and couldn't stop, I should just fall over.

Monday, 25 August 2014

Skiing Part 1

A few years ago Thomas and our cousin Mark moved to BC to work in the mountains during the ski season. Patricia, Clint and I went up to visit them for a few days.
I'm about as graceful as a moose when I'm just standing on my own feet, so I passed on the opportunity to ski down a mountain. Which was both smart and a shame, because some funny stuff came from it.
